Session Overview
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.22% today on thin holiday trading, to close at 33,147.25 and capping off 2022 as the worst year for the market since 2008. Energy was the only advancing sector up 0.46%. Consumer Discretionary and Materials were the biggest drag on the markets, down 0.87% and 0.84% respectively. In economic “good news” the Chicago PMI ended the year stronger than expected at 44.9 vs 40.5 consensus and 37.2 in November.

The only advancing sector was Energy, up 0.46%. Consumer Discretionary and Materials were the biggest decliners, down 0.87% and 0.84% respectively.
Yields rose on the day and advancing throughout the week: US – 2yr to 4.428%, 5yr to 4.00%, 10yr to 3.879%, 30yr to 3.975%
